What is Diálogos?
Diálogos, with Gisela Ortiz, is a space for open and necessary conversations about human rights, memory, and justice in Peru. Hosted by an activist and family member of a victim of the internal armed conflict (1980–2000), this podcast seeks to recover the memories of victims’ families and turn them into tools of resistance against forgetting and impunity.
Episode 8, January 29, 2026
In this episode of Gisela Ortiz, Gisela speaks with Zuliana Lainez, president of the National Association of Journalists of Peru (ANP), to examine the role of the journalism profession in defending human rights and preserving historical memory. Episode 7, December 11, 2025
This week, as we commemorate International Human Rights Day, we return to the protests in Peru in December 2022, when thousands of people took to the streets to defend their vote and demand change. The State’s response was repression and the disproportionate use of force, leaving dozens of people killed, especially in the Andean regions.
In this episode of Diálogos con Gisela Ortiz, we speak with Bertha Aguilar and Milagros Samillán, sisters of two victims of state repression. Through their voices, we learn who their brothers were before they became numbers, how they lived through those days of violence and mourning, and what it means to continue demanding truth, justice, and reparation from a State that still has not responded.
🎧 Listen, share, and stand with the families who refuse to give up.
✊ On International Human Rights Day, we join the demands for justice and non-repetition made by the families of the victims of state repression in #Peru.
