Episode 13: Interview with Luis Cintora, Spanish Documentary Filmmaker Committed to Human Rights
Gisela spoke with documentary filmmaker Luis Cintora, whose work has taken him to countries including Ecuador, Spain, Mongolia, Algeria, Somalia, and Thailand.
In Peru, Luis has produced a series of documentaries exploring memory, human rights, and the internal armed conflict, particularly in the regions of Ayacucho and Huancavelica. As part of this work to recover and preserve memory, he has also collaborated with several human rights organizations, including the Peruvian Forensic Anthropology Team (EPAF).
In this interview, Luis reflects on the role of documentary filmmaking in the construction of memory, the importance of documenting personal testimonies, and the challenges of representing violence from an ethical and socially committed perspective.
