Episode 8: Diálogos con Gisela Returns

Diálogos con Gisela took a short break over the past few weeks, but we never stopped paying attention to what was happening. Today, we return to the program to reflect on the work we have done so far and provide an update on key developments from the final days of 2025 and the beginning of 2026.

One of the most serious developments occurred on December 24, with the approval of Law 32, a measure that eliminates the gender perspective from public policy. This is not simply a change in terminology: it represents concrete setbacks, including the abandonment of comprehensive sexuality education that is essential for children and adolescents, particularly in a country with high rates of teenage pregnancy and where femicide and sexual violence continue to occur.

We also examine other troubling developments during this period, including the implementation of an amnesty law and proposed measures targeting organizations that support victims and communities. These measures could ultimately restrict their ability to represent people before the Peruvian State, not only in administrative proceedings but also in criminal cases at both the national and international levels.

For these reasons, it is more important than ever to closely examine the proposals advanced by these political groups, denounce abuses of power, and join civic campaigns and initiatives that defend rights and protect lives.

Thank you for joining us and for being part of Diálogos con Gisela Ortiz on Radio Harawi.
