Episode 7: Interview with Sisters of Victims of the Repression of 2022 Protest

2025-12-11

This week, as we commemorate International Human Rights Day, we return to the protests of December 2022 in Peru, when thousands of people took to the streets to defend their vote and demand change. The State responded with repression and the disproportionate use of force, leaving dozens of people dead, particularly in the Andean regions.

In this episode of Diálogos con Gisela Ortiz, we speak with Bertha Aguilar and Milagros Samillán, sisters of two victims of state repression. Through their voices, we learn who their brothers were, how their families experienced those days of violence and grief, and what it means to continue demanding truth, justice, and reparations from a State that has yet to provide answers.

🎧 Listen, share, and stand with the families who refuse to give up their struggle for justice.

✊ On International Human Rights Day, we join the families of the victims of state repression in Peru in their calls for justice and guarantees of non-repetition.
